Tell us a little about yourself?

24 year old from Steubenville, Ohio. I run a nutritional coaching company, and LOVE to train.

Where do you train?

I train at CrossFit 519 in PA.

What made you start CrossFit?

I initially saw that people looked good moving really well. They were like all-in-one athletes. I hopped into a CrossFit class when I was 19 and once I finished I thought to myself: "This is the hardest thing I have ever done, so why would I do anything else?". I also discovered Rich Froning who was pretty open about his faith. This was inspiring to me not because he was the best but because of the message. This led me to strengthening my faith in Christ as I trained my body/mind to compete in this sport.

What do you enjoy the most about your sport?

I love the challenge. I love seeing what I am capable of every day I walk into the gym.

I don't really have a FAVORITE WOD. However I love workouts that have a mix of all of the elements. I really like Ring Muscle ups and weightlifting.

How do you prepare yourself before a competition?

This answer changes over time as I develop as an athlete. I try to visualize myself internally and externally. Putting focus on my effort and what I can control is something I have been practicing with events. Finishing each rep, and staying in my lane and staying present.

How much do you focus on your diet, and what does this consist of?

I focus on my nutrition a LOT. Seeing that I run a company dedicated to this, I think it's a given. My nutrition is catered towards my training design at the time. It consists of a macronutrient based plan with a specific intent.

Do you have any food weaknesses?

I love chicken wings, but don't really eat them often.

What advice would you give to any newbies starting out in your sport?

Enjoy where you are, and enjoy the process of growth. Don't dwell on bad workouts, and move forward to the next because you will have plenty of opportunities for redemption.
