Tell us a little about yourself.

I am a driven 23 year old athlete, food scientist, brother and son who loves to put hard work in everyday. I am always chasing excellence whether it be working 40+ hours a week in the lab, training at the gym 3-4 hours a day, 6 days a week, or preparing with my team for Regionals.

In the past, I enjoyed competition and using my fitness in all kinds of sports, which eventually lead to playing baseball and rugby at Juniata College. However, it was the grit and hard work off the field I liked the most, and I believe this is the reason why I enjoy CrossFit so much.

Where do you train?

Prodigy Fitness (Essex, Md).

What made you start Crossfit?

After graduating college, I needed something to fill the time I spent playing college baseball and rugby. I saw it as an outlet and the competitive nature of the sport was a plus.

What do you enjoy the most about your sport?

I enjoy the gymnastic component because of the skill work and complexity of the more difficult movements.

Do you have a favourite WOD and why?

Murph because it is great to show appreciation for those who serve and you really see the community get together during that time. What’s your least favourite movement/what needs the most extra work?

Deadlift - I am more of a squat dominant athlete

What's your number 1 goal?

To achieve the fittest and healthiest version of myself.

What’s your most memorable Crossfit memory/achievement?

Making the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Regionals with my team.

How do you prepare yourself before a competition?

Hydrate with water and electrolytes, sleep 7-8 hours, consume high carb foods, get body work done, and meditate before bed.

How much do you focus on your diet, and what does this consist of?

50% carbs, 25% protein, 25% fats with 4,000 calories or more per day. I eat a large breakfast, small lunch with some snacking during the day, and a large dinner after training. Do you have any food weaknesses:Ice Cream -Ben and Jerry’s or Halo Top.

What advice would you give to any newbies starting out in your sport?

Be comfortable learningnew skills and movements.

What’s something fun, or funny, about you that people don’t know?

I only snore when I take naps (not when when actually sleeping) and sometimes wake myself up because of it.
